  7.   WHAT IS CLICKSAVE?
  8.   ------------------
  9.  
  10.   ClickSave allows you to secure your desktop from prying eyes quickly and
  11.   easily.  The screen saver (with the password enabled) is ideal for locking
  12.   your machine while you are away from your desk - ClickSave allows you to
  13.   run it instantly.  
  14.  
  15.   You can also get ClickSave to log you off automatically, or shut down your
  16.   machine - ideal in shared environments where security is a concern.
  17.  
  18.   Finally, ClickSave also gives you fast access to your favourite 
  19.   applications.  The DeskLaunch icon resides in your system tray, and lets
  20.   you run any of the programs on your desktop from the menu.  If you like
  21.   to have an uncluttered desktop, there is a second launcher menu that you
  22.   can add applications and documents to - simply drag icons to the system 
  23.   tray to add them!

  25.   Control your screen saver:

  27.       - Double-click the tray icon
  28.       - Use a hot key
  29.       - Leave the mouse pointer over a specified corner of the screen
  30.       - Start the screen saver from the command line
  31.       - Start the screen saver when your system starts
  32.       - Disable the screen saver quickly (useful for when you are defragmenting
  33.         your hard disk, for example)
  34.  
  35.   Log off quickly/automatically:

  37.       - log off, shut down, or restart your machine quickly from the tray
  38.       - log off or shut down automatically when the system is idle
  39.  
  40.   Other features:

  42.       - Add menu items to the menu or desktop to launch your favourite apps
  43.       - Show display properties
  44.       - Show your desktop by minimising all windows
  45.       - Browse your folders quickly
  46.       - Turn your system tray into a toolbar

  55.   HOW DOES IT WORK?
  56.   -----------------

  58.   The program runs automatically when you start Windows.  The screen saver
  59.   icon and/or the DeskLaunch icon appears on the system status tray at the 
  60.   bottom-right of your desktop.  Double-clicking on the first icon starts 
  61.   your screen saver - simple as that!  Double-clicking the second icon
  62.   clears exposes your desktop.

  64.   The icons also have associated menus (activated with the right mouse
  65.   button) which allow you to quickly log off or shut down your machine, or
  66.   to set your display settings.  You can also add launcher items to the
  67.   screen saver icon by dragging them onto the system tray, or onto the
  68.   settings dialog.

  71.   SURELY ALL THIS HAS SOME KIND OF OVERHEAD?

  74.   ClickSave is specially designed to take up as few resources as possible.
  75.   The executables only come to 35K and have very little impact on your
  76.   system's performance.

  86.   The registered version allows you to add many more items to the ClickSave
  87.   menu, and also enables the auto log off/shutdown feature, which logs
  88.   users out when the machine is left unattended.  It also includes a help
  89.   file, and allows you to turn your system tray into a toolbar.

  91.   $14.95 is a small price to pay for security.

  94.   BEFORE YOU INSTALL
  95.   ------------------

  97.   This software is supplied 'as is' and the author takes no responsibility 
  98.   for any damage incurred due to it's installation.  It has, however, been
  99.   extensively tested and is unlikely to cause problems on any Windows 95
  100.   machine.  It has not been tested for Windows NT, but has been designed
  101.   with NT in mind (if you experience problems, please contact the author).

  103.   Note that in the unregistered version, certain minor features are disabled
  104.   and the number of user menu items in the tray menus are limited to 3.

  106.   IMPORTANT - IF YOU HAVE REGISTERD, THEN PLEASE READ THE LICENCE AGREEMENT

  109.   INSTALLATION/SETUP
  110.   ------------------
  111.  
  112.   Extract the files into a temporary directory using an unzip utility  [If 
  113.   you are using a recent version of WinZip, then you should be able to
  114.   simply click on the 'Install' button to complete the installation.]
  115.  
  116.   Execute the Setup program.  The files will be copied to your Windows 
  117.   directory and you will be given the options screen.  ClickSave should
  118.   run automatically.

  120.   To change the settings, click on the 'ClickSave' tab in the display
  121.   properties control panel app.  This can be accessed by right-clicking
  122.   the ClickSave icon and selecting it from the menu.
  123.  
  124.   If you are UPGRADING from a previous version, then please make sure 
  125.   that the display properties control panel is closed before installing.
  126.  
  127.   If you experience problems with the HotCorner settings after upgrading,
  128.   then please follow this procedure (you will lose your previous settings,
  129.   apart from the launcher icons).

  131.    1. Exit ClickSave and/or the display settings control panel
  132.    2. Run the registry editor (Start Menu->Run, then type regedit)
  133.    3. Go to the HKEY_CURRENT_USER->Software folder
  134.    4. Delete the ClickSave folder (take care not to change anything else)
  135.    5. Exit regedit, and restart ClickSave
  136.

  138.   SETUP AND UNINSTALLATION
  139.   ------------------------

  141.   To remove ClickSave, go to Control Panel->"Add/Remove Programs" and
  142.   select ClickSave from the list of installed programs.

  145.   RUNNING CLICKSAVE
  146.   -----------------

  148.   The program will normally be executed automatically on system startup.
  149.   If you want to run it by hand, then select 'Run' form the start menu and
  150.   enter CLICKSAVE.  Alternatively, use the explorer to run it from the
  151.   Windows directory.  You can drag ClickSave to your desktop or add it to
  152.   your start menu by selecting Start->Settings->Taskbar&Start Menu.

  156.      /I         If you want to start the screen saver immediately from the
  157.                 command line, you can use the /I (immediate) option
  158.                 after the command.
